F24 HighPoint Market

Better Late than Never: Trends, Finds, and Favorites

After a year away, my quick trip to the Fall 2024 High Point Market was a refreshing dive into the latest interior design trends. The event showcased a harmonious blend of cozy, warm palettes and innovative furniture solutions, offering a glimpse into the future of interior design. Here are the highlights that stood out:

Color Trends: A Cozy Revival

The market was awash with earthy tones—cinnamon, cognac, and cream—creating inviting and soothing spaces. Olive green accents added depth, while warm grays provided a subtle, comforting backdrop. This palette exuded a sense of coziness and tranquility. Essentials for Living also unveiled an expanded palette, blending darker, richer tones with their signature light and airy shades. Their upholstery features performance fabrics, ensuring easier maintenance and durability without compromising on style—perfect for busy, modern lifestyles.

Lighting: Artistry in Functionality

Lighting this year embraced both form and function. Many pieces feature cascading designs with multiple light outputs, transforming fixtures into works of art. One standout was Hubbardton Forge, showcasing customizable fixtures that attach at various points on the ceiling for a unique, personalized look. Visual Comfort also impressed with larger cordless lamps and cordless sconces, making it easier to update spaces without rewiring.

Functional Furniture for Flexible Living

At Market, furniture trends always steal the spotlight, and this year was no exception! Drink tables, console tables, and dining options were everywhere, each bringing fresh designs to the forefront. One standout trend? The rise of laptop side tables—perfectly tailored for today’s flexible lifestyles. These handy pieces blend style and functionality, making it easier than ever to work or relax in any corner of the home.

At the Kravet showroom, I was captivated by the fabric collaboration between Kravet Couture and Altuzarra. The design was beautifully executed, with stunning attention to detail, including a handle elegantly attached to the frame. This thoughtful touch added both functionality and a sophisticated aesthetic to the piece, showcasing the seamless blend of form and design that defines this collaboration.

Textiles and Wall Coverings: Layers of Luxury

Texture truly took center stage in wallcoverings this season, adding depth and character to any space. From the rich, tactile appeal of grasscloth to the subtle shimmer of bling finishes, companies like Left Bank Art showcased designs that were anything but ordinary. These textured wallcoverings not only enhance a room’s visual interest but also offer a customizable edge, making it easier to create spaces that feel both unique and inviting.

The Eastern Accents Oliver Bedset from the Niche Collection is a stunning blend of elegance and comfort. With exquisite fabrics and intricate detailing, it features a harmonious color palette that enhances the overall aesthetic. Ideal for discerning homeowners and interior designers, this collection showcases impressive craftsmanship that ensures both beauty and durability, elevating any bedroom with inviting luxury and style.

Showroom Highlights: Favorites and Finds

  • Made Goods: A personal favorite, their expanded vanity program and the new dusty rose vanity top were highlights. The showroom’s bathroom (complete with cheeky “This is where the magic happens” and whimsical wallpaper) was a true showstopper.

  • Creative Threads: We are excited to add this drapery line to the showroom! Their ready-made draperies, available in 96” and 108” designer lengths, feature gorgeous borders for a polished, custom look.

  • American Leather: Offering innovative sleeper sofas and recliners that don’t look like recliners—perfect for spaces where aesthetics matter as much as function.

The Made Goods vanity stole the show with its Isla style, featuring natural peeled rattan paired with a stunning dusty rose top trench sink and a widespread faucet in a chic champagne bronze finish. These vanities are completely customizable, right down to the knobs, allowing you to design a piece that’s perfectly tailored to your space and personal style. It’s the ultimate blend of elegance, versatility, and functionality!
